Privacy Notice.

We believe in privacy by design. This notice explains what we track, what we don't, and how our legal tools protect your anonymity.

DSAR Tool Privacy

Our Data Request Generator runs 100% client-side. The names, emails, and details you enter never leave your browser. We do not see, store, or transmit your personal legal inputs.

Minimal Analytics

We use privacy-preserving analytics (Vercel) to count page views. We do not use invasive cross-site tracking pixels or sell user data to ad networks.

1. Introduction

sohohouse.co ("Soho House Insider", "we", "us") is an independent, non-commercial publication. This Privacy Notice explains how we handle information when you visit our website.

Important Distinction: We are not Soho House & Co Inc. If you are looking for the official privacy policy governing your membership or official club visits, please visit sohohouse.com/privacy-policy.

2. The DSAR Generator Tool

Our website features a "Data Subject Access Request" (DSAR) generator located at /how-to/request-my-data. This tool allows you to draft legal letters to send to data controllers.

Technical Architecture

This tool is built as a Static Client Application. When you type your name, email, or membership ID into the form, that data remains in your device's temporary memory (RAM). It is processed by JavaScript running locally in your browser to generate the preview text. At no point is this data sent to our servers or database.

Because we do not collect this data, we cannot recover a lost draft for you, nor can we see who you are sending requests to.

3. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the site and understand our audience:

  • Usage Data: We use Vercel Analytics to track aggregate metrics such as page views, visitor countries, and referring sites. This data is anonymized and does not identify individual users.
  • Technical Logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may log standard server information such as IP addresses for security and fraud prevention (e.g., DDoS protection). These logs are retained for a limited period.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We aim to keep our site lightweight. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

  • Essential Cookies: We may use cookies strictly necessary for the site's operation (e.g., load balancing).
  • Local Storage: Some interactive components may use your browser's "Local Storage" to save your preferences (like Dark Mode) between visits. This data stays on your device.

5. External Links

Our articles and tools frequently link to external websites, including official Soho House pages, news sources, and regulatory bodies (e.g., the ICO or GDPR portals).

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to read the privacy notices of any website you visit.

6. Children's Privacy

Our content is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have rights regarding your personal data. However, because we collect minimal, anonymized data and do not store user accounts or DSAR inputs, we generally do not hold personal data that can be linked back to a specific individual request.

If you have questions about our data practices, you may contact us.
